Start a trip or route

Tell Beacon where a vehicle is going. No Google address is required: give the place your own name, then drop a pin on the map, enter coordinates, or use the selected vehicle's live position. For a route with several stops, press Add stop for each one, then Start.

Connect your AI assistant

Create a key for your assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, an in-house agent). It can only see the phones you tick, only in this company, and every read is logged.

How to connect

ChatGPT (custom GPT)

Create a GPT, open Configure then Actions then Create new action.
Choose Import from URL and paste:
Authentication: API key, type Bearer, and paste the assistant key.
Add the instructions below to the GPT.

Claude, Hermes or your own agent

Base URL , header Authorization: Bearer <assistant key>. The full API description is at the OpenAPI link above.

Instructions for the assistant

You can see our company vehicles through the Seidr Beacon API.
- listDevices: the vehicles you may see.
- getDeviceStatus: moving, stationary (since when) or offline, and the last position.
- getLatestLocation / getLocationHistory: where a vehicle is and has been.
- listTrips / getTrip: where a vehicle is going, distance left and arrival estimate.
- startTrip / cancelTrip: only when a person asks you to. For several stops, pass "stops" (name + coordinates each); every stop is marked reached when the vehicle gets there, and getTrip shows which are done and what is left.
- listMessages / sendMessageToDevice / getMessageMedia: talk to drivers. Pass on what the boss asks, report what drivers answer (voice notes and photos too), and tell the boss when a driver needs something.
- listEmergencies: SOS alerts from your phones. An active SOS is urgent: tell the responsible people at once, with the map link, and keep them updated until it ends.
Give times in South African time. Say when a position is old. Never guess a location.

Push alerts to your assistant

Beacon sends events straight to this address the moment they happen, so your assistant (for example Hermes) can tell the right people at once: an emergency (SOS) with position updates and when it ends, every new message from a driver (message.received, attachments are fetched separately), and every route stop reached (trip.stop_arrived, trip.completed), and every stop a driver dismisses because it was cancelled or the place is closed (trip.stop_dismissed). Each push is signed like trip updates (X-Beacon-Signature, key under Trips) and has an X-Beacon-Timestamp: reject pushes older than 5 minutes. The phone always texts and calls its own contacts too.
