HekMotor gate control

A connected gate-motor controller and anti-theft alarm inside the motor’s own enclosure. A five-wire hookup, 12 V or 24 V tolerant, fits any common South African gate-motor brand. Open the gate by calling from a whitelisted phone, by SMS passcode, or from the local Wi-Fi dashboard. Built and sold under RND Automation.

Arduino-based centre-pivot controllers with programmed watering cycles, sensor-driven cut-outs and manual override at the panel. Designed so any failure is obvious enough for the farmer to fix himself with a multimeter.

Machinery, with RND Automation.

Machinery and field hardware run through RND Automation (opens in a new tab): custom bagging, screening and packaging machines, PLC control retrofits, and ESP32/LoRa electronics for farms and security.

RND Automation is a custom-machinery shop in the Free State, active since 2018, with three partners of whom I am one. Every machine is hand-built for a specific client and a specific material flow, with no catalogue and no mass production. My side spans the whole machine: SolidWorks for the mechanical and structural design, Delta PLC ladder logic for control, the electrical panel build, on-site commissioning, and the service callout when something needs a tweak six months later.
